Update from City Parks Operations: "We have six working faucets in the park primarily located in and around our 16 shelters. We have a Blue Ways kayak launch with a wash station near the gazebo on the southwest corner. We did receive a directive to disconnect water to these wash stations city wide. We also disconnected a water line closer to the boat ramps that was left by a contractor.

As for the dog bowl, we did not install it, Maximo is not a dog park and unattended items left in parks are removed and stored for thirty days then disposed of. We recommend pet owners purchase a collapsible bowl to bring with them. Please see this link:

no I do not belive your statement that the stainless steel bowl was an unattended item it was placed there by the city. how do I know this because It was chained to the water faucet by park employes. yes we know it is not a dog park but many hundreds of people and there dogs walk in the park every week. so find out who sent out the directive to remove this faucet and I recommend that they be admonished for directing this action because that water faucet has been there for years. and it has now surley missed by the park patrons.; and this is first and upmost is the park visitors. you pride your self on having a friendly park? then why deprive us of a little water for hot and thirsty dogs. also we use it at the BBQ pit located. now I went there the other day and guess what. because the water faucet was removed some person set hot BBQ brickets in the waist baskets and it caught the cornor post of the gazebo on fire destroying that post. now if that water faucet was still ther the fire could have been put out with out any significant damageto the post. so who is the blame? the person who ordered the faucet removed. show them the damage to the gazebo. let them take a good look and lesson learned. return the faucet.
