A month and a half later and this trench is still causing damage to taxpayer vehicles. The construction project is legally obliged to repair the trench properly. Why can't someone at DPW just call the project super and if there's no response, start fining daily? Is it because Landino is a big campaign contributor?

Of course I could be wrong about Landino being responsible. The problem might have been caused by the Bakers Dozen renovation at 250 Crown.

If I told you it took over a year to get a trench patched on my street would you believe me? Ordinance states permanent patch within 6 months BUT the hole in the process is some pay the City a "patch fee" so it goes back on the City's responsibility.The contractor is still responsible until the City patches it though.
If you want you can get the permit information from Barbara Perrotti at the Building Department and call Jeff Pescallito @ PW on why its been a year with no repair, Try getting the help of your Alder. He does respond to emails - sometimes you have to push.
