This whole neighborhood is embarrassing. As someone trying to sell a house, it's so frustrating! People are lazy and don't care. We've reported so many houses, it's ridiculous. Does anything even happen after houses are reported on here?
They get a notice in the mail with a certain number of days to clear the weeds or are subject to a fine. I think its either a 2 week or 30 day period after they get the notice in the mail. This time of year the city is swamped from from weed notices after the July/August rains. Instead of reporting so many houses - talk to your neighbors and possibly offer to help clean the weeds up. Maybe they are unable to do it and are not lazy. I am sure they care - but when the summer rains hit, the weeds take over very quickly.
A big part of the problem is a good number of these properties are rentals, and if the property owner is out of state, how are they notified that they're in violation?
One of our neighbors is in foreclosure proceedings and is a violator. They went through their garage door several years back and it was replaced. They subsequently went through it again two years ago and it sits unrepaired this time. Guess how their weed situation is addressed...? It's not!
I have pulled so many people's weeds! I am one person. I cannot pull everyone's weeds. There are hundreds of houses in Paradise Skies that are filled with weeds. If everyone took 30 minutes and pulled weeds and sprayed, it would look like a nice neighborhood again. The main roads are horrible. People can't even walk their dogs.
