Try flashing your high beam headlights @ the light once or twice. This technique is most effective during nighttime hours.

The next light down also - at Hillcrest/Penn square. It is so frustrating to sit there at 6:30 in the morning and see no traffic coming in either direction. At least you can right-turn on red , but if you want to go left or straight, you're gonna sit for awhile :(

In fact, all of the lights down to Rt 202 are less than wonderful. Needs to be examined and re-engineered. Last night I sat through 3 cycles of red/green before I could make a left turn from Germantown Pike on to Dekalb. It is frustrating and unnecessary.
