the disabled and elderly are not able to take a bus to the new and much publisized South Point Park on Roosevelt Island...much of the island is disabled and cannot walk the almost mile down to the new park. I have called, emailed and went into the RIOC office in person to request a bus stop put at the new park. I have been told many times, and even last year when I stared inquiring about this that when the new park opened, the buses both Q102 and the Red Bus would be re routed to stop at the new park. It has not been done as of today 9/15/2011...I am shocked that RI has not cared enough about the handicapped and disabled people not being able to have unlimited access to every park and place on the island. I hope that this will happen soon and take the cloud of limited bus service on the RI> well? What is it going to take ?

I have read that service to SP Park will start in January with Q101 service, and then to be followed by The RED BUS following up as well.
