Description

The pedestrian traffic signal used to cross Franklin Street to get to the Colonial Park School neighborhood could use an upgrade. Cars coming from the Melrose direction have fairly low visibility to this traffic light until they are right at the light, both due to the low hanging trees and the low glare filter covering the bulbs. A safety upgrade might include adding an additional light signal to the pole on the 215 Franklin side of the street so that it faces Melrose. This light pole can be seen as far down the road as Ferdinand Street. This would make crossing the street safer for kids and adults who frequent this crosswalk.
