This parking problem on St. Mary's Street is so ongoing that it is very frustrating! I wish the CAT drivers would also report these issues, and that police would enforce! The bus zone(s) need to be clearly signed as "no parking any time," and pavement markings wouldn't hurt either.

The ironic thing about this is the lady that was in an electric wheelchair and she had just come out of church at Hillyer!

I agree that people should not be parking in the bus and no parking zones even if it is to go to church, maybe the pastor can be contacted to share since the City of Raleigh CAT bus now operates on Sunday and needs that zone.

I think the best and most prompt option is to call 911 if and whenever it occurs. If people start getting ticketed, they will stop parking in No Parking zone. The pastor can preach about it every Sunday and it won't stop.

Police will not show up if you call the dispatch number. You'll be lucky if they even call you back, and then it's usually 3 or more hours. I lived at Cameron Court for 3 years and we had issues with homeless hanging out and they would rarely respond because they said unless someone's life was in immediate danger, they were too busy to respond.

The same issue this Sunday morning. Cars parked on both sides of Saint Mary's Street all the way to Hillsborough St. Not even enough room between cars to walk through bumpers, leaving bus stops completely inaccessible. I called the non-emergency number and the woman who answers is very rude, very rude. She disconnected me when she finally transferred me to he appropriate district number.

Call 911. It's OK to call 911, they will send an officer to ticket the cars.

You're not supposed to call 911 for a non-emergency. I don't think cars parked in the no parking lane is an emergency. I do think it's illegal and inconsiderate, and I do think the violators should face a fine. Do CAT bus drivers have radios to call in this illegal activity? I would think CAT bus drivers would be willing to contact over the radio when people are making the stops inaccessible.

Their cars should be towed away and impounded immediately.

We have alerted the Downtown District Station and asked them to check the area on Sunday, as mentioned above, you may call the non-emergency number 919-831-6311 and ask that an officer be dispatched to address the issue and allow access.
