Afraid it's even worse. The area really needs to be blocked off by permanent walls/barriers, or it becomes repopulated quickly after a "sweep, " or whatever that's called.

This has gotten even worse. The current residents have recently nailed up what appears to be plywood walls to the jumbles of hanging blankets.

this is really out of hand. Yesterday I came down Alameda ave to turn left onto the bridge and I was beset by several of these guys asking for money while I waited for the light to change. One of them pounded on my window.

What has to happen before oakland finds a permanent solution for this? Does some bystander have to get hurt? They have already driven off the people who want to fish.

It's ou5ragrous. I got a notification the other day ftom See Click Fix that my report of this situation had just hit 180 days old.. Did I want to continue? Hell, yeah! I added written update that these guys have now puit up wooden walls and a hinged door! However, I wasn't able to afd an updated pic
