This has been cut out and restored. The sewer main is located in the sidewalk. This could be a house lateral issue.

Thank you for taking care of this although I would have like a definitive or at least possible answer. It is definitely NOT a sewer lateral as the houses closest to the sinkhole have laterals that go out the back and connect to the Charles St section of the sewer.

It is possible it is not a sewer related issue at all. We will monitor the road patch to see if it continues to sink. Thank you for the information.
