If they dont do something fast I will go to channel news 8 ive had it with these officers they are not doing there job sitting on rt34 isnt cutting it for me and the worst part is I have 3 officers that live on my street and I guess non of them complain so I guess they feel its not important they havent spoke to me yet because I will not be nice about this im fighting for my kids and the neighborhood kids they cant speek up so someone needs to represent them!!

You call channel 8 then wait for them to contact you. You get a bunch of adults and kids and get them in front of the TV cameras. Sad to say, but sometimes you MUST embarrass the politicians and the police in order to get anything done.

Try calling the Derby Police non-emergency line and voice your complaint and tell others that live on High St. to do the same.

I am not familiar with this street but when I moved to the valley a couple years ago I was STUNNED that Derby and Ansonia both fully staff their own police departments.... which are very expensive and, of course, are paid for by taxpayers.

I am not saying the officers are not fine people doing good work. However, you can drive around both towns and see police cars EVERYWHERE. My word, how many police officers to we need to handle the crime in Derby and Ansonia? Could they not be merged into a single force serving both cities?

Yes, I agree you should file your complaint if needed but how this can't be covered with current staffing escapes me.

They speed everywhere now. Franklin Street has a dead man's curve. More and more cars come down the hill from Nolan field and are doing at least 40! The whole valley needs help with speeders. Lots are from out of town cutting through or new comers.

With the many liberal lawyers and politicians watching the local police for racial profiling, I cannot blame the police for looking the other way. It's up to the voters to stop voting for liberals.

Maybe you don't read all the news but after Ferguson Mo. police departments in Ct. are being monitored for who they pull over and what race they are. Sounds real liberal to me! The man who killed a two year old child with a knife was arrested thirty times with eight felonies. This thug was in the Democrats early release program.

Planner, My meaning of liberal is all about the political correctness that has inundated the Democratic party in particular. being a Libertarian is about using and protecting our freedoms. The extremist liberals want to limit your freedoms for their agendas. Planner, I think we may disagree on strategy but in the long run we both want the same thing.
