i am woken up at all hours of the night by cars racing up and down the street. Yet I never see any police, are they clueless.

Does some kid need to die while waiting for the school bus. It is the parents as well. They have the kids in the car and blow through the stop sign at Gilbert and fern.

It's out of control.

I totally agree that people drive through Rocky Hill much too fast. On more than one occasion, as approaching Gilbert St from Fern, I have seen cars race right through the stop sign. I have also witnessed a young man racing down Gilbert towards Maple St at speeds exceeding 60-80mph, as I have driven in the opposite direction. Speeding is also a major problem on Elm Street going in either direction. In the evenings, I can hear cars racing on nearby Cromwell Ave. and also from Cromwell Ave down Elm St. I have never seen a RH Police car in this area patrolling for speeders, but I have witnessed a few serious accidents on Elm St as a result of excessive speed. Lastly, I'd like to know when the RH Police are going to enforce the cell phone ban on drivers? It's not bad enough that so many people speed through our town, but so many of them are on cell phones as well. RH Police should set a better example themselves by obeying the law and getting off of their own cell phones. I see this every day. What kind of an example are they setting? .

When I complained, very loudly, the put 2 cruisers in front of a house with very bored looking cops for a couple of days. I emaild chief and told him this was laughable. The need to either put a car backed into Shea circle or over the crest heading north so the could catch he idiots without being seen.

So they said the radar could not get them unless they got the car from front or rear. Told them to sit on Christiana drive and watch stop sign.

Never going to happen. I have a kid going past house at night easily doing 80 plus. I keep hoping he will lose control and hit a tree or the bridge.

I can only dream.

I'll bet the kid you've seen flying by at 80mph was the same one I've seen doing the same thing on Gilbert Ave. Sooner or late, he's going to lose control of his car and have an accident. I happen to like Rocky Hill, but I have to tell you, I haven't been especially impressed with the RH Police response to issues that pertain to problematic young people, speeders or drivers with cell phones. I don't want to generalize the RH Police, but at times, some of them are not very professional. Speeding is a 24hour a day, seven day a week problem on many of Rocky Hill's streets. Are the Rocky Hill Police going to pay any attention to this problem? Or are they too busy chatting on their cell phones to notice the problem?

For the record, police officers are exempt from the cell phone ban if they are using the phone in the performance of their official duties.

By the way, speeding is also an issue on West St.
