I totally agree that people drive through Rocky Hill much too fast. On more than one occasion, as approaching Gilbert St from Fern, I have seen cars race right through the stop sign. I have also witnessed a young man racing down Gilbert towards Maple St at speeds exceeding 60-80mph, as I have driven in the opposite direction. Speeding is also a major problem on Elm Street going in either direction. In the evenings, I can hear cars racing on nearby Cromwell Ave. and also from Cromwell Ave down Elm St. I have never seen a RH Police car in this area patrolling for speeders, but I have witnessed a few serious accidents on Elm St as a result of excessive speed. Lastly, I'd like to know when the RH Police are going to enforce the cell phone ban on drivers? It's not bad enough that so many people speed through our town, but so many of them are on cell phones as well. RH Police should set a better example themselves by obeying the law and getting off of their own cell phones. I see this every day. What kind of an example are they setting? .
