Description
Amplified bass speakers booming straight across at the lake. Day party but the bass is really high and they're pointed right at our building

Here's what I've learned about the noise nuisance near the bandstand in lake merritt park:
It's escalated. For the past few years, there's been a fire show sometime during the year for I think a few weeks or months. Usually just fire and people gathered and no music at all.
Then suddenly, this year it's been accompanied by loud music with bass. I went down there maybe 3 Friday nights ago and asked them to please turn it down cause it carries across the lake. What I saw was a bunch of youngish folk (20s/30s) watching a bunch of "entertainers" playing with fires like a troupe in a circus. And there was one speaker.
Fast forward to this past week: Friday, right on cue they're blasting music until past 1:30am starting sometime around 10:30pm. Then saturday afternoon what I think is another group of people are blasting music, but from my window it looked like they had a whole setup. Anyway, I was so livid and exhausted and it really sucks that you're not able to relax in your own home.
Saturday night around 8pm I went down there cause I saw that they weren't leaving. And what I saw was just crazy: they had a whole setup, a tent with a couple of speakers and a woofer and some other equipment with wires and knobs and stuff, as if it were a concert. WTF?
So I asked the guy if he's done for the night and he stared at me. Then I asked if he would turn it down, and told him noise carries throughout the lake cause there are no physical barriers to block it, etc. He says something ridiculous like, oh, we turned the speakers so they would face inside the lake. Ridiculous. Sound isn't linear! Anyway, he nodded, sorted of apologized.
I went home. A couple hours later, music is blasting and the fire people are at it again . First time I've seen and heard them on a Saturday night.
My feeling is they have been spending the last couple of months "rehearsing" for this Saturday night thing. Cause, as I said, before there was just one speaker, and saturday there was a whole concert setup.
Of course I am guessing this is not a official concert sanctioned by the city. People are just so selfish, inconsiderate, and devoid of accountability. The city's spent tons of money and resources in the lake merritt beautification project but nothing to keep it up. The noise nuisance, the trash, the tents, the graffiti in literally every bench and lamp post along the lake on the lakeside. I grew up in NYC and I have never seen a city run like this. It's mental!!
Anyway, here's a post about the issue I posted yesterday: https://seeclickfix.com/issues/12190614
