Description

The storm drain here is constantly backed up. The city installed it to due to the large puddles that form and flood this area of the road. Now the road still floods just when the storm drain is blocked. Can we please fix this. Thank you!

12 minutes after the report, the water was completely gone. This is not a "constant" condition - as I live nearby and know it to be transient. It is only when there is a torrential downpour. Then it clears up AS PLANNED FOR and within minutes.
There was a tremendous downpour, with runoff from the highway and hill, both in your photo. Jacqueline is only 330+ feet north of a Flood Prone Soil area and is also in a watershed management area - this kind of thing is to be expected. There are stormwater inlets and junctions adjacent to the Flood Prone Soil area, which worked in short order. NOT A PROBLEM.

Thanks for the comment lady dragonfly. Like the city to come out and see if we can get bigger grates maybe for the storm drain or some other improvement to keep the streets clear

Why is 12 minutes for clearance not enough? Was the area impassable? No. Water can only drain at a given rate, depending on pressure, back pressure, pitch, volume, etc. A larger grate would barely make a difference. Again, still passable and completely clear within 12 minutes is nothing to spend resources "fixing".

Not sure who keeps closing this issue. But please let the city address this issue. Thank you! I have reported water in the roadway many times to the city in this area and they began to fix this issue with the grate and I like them to work to ensure no more water forms large puddles on the roadway. Thank you!

There have been cuts in landscape budgets and the workers are stressed. I once lived in a city where the boy scouts performed park maintaince because the workers could not.

I specifically went to look at it shortly after the rain stopped. There was no backup. It is apparent that any water which accumulates during a downpour quickly disperses. Not everything can be instant.
