  How can Oakland not fix the street lights?

  Anyone want to get a petition started to have Skyline BLVD be put back on the Master Street List?

  I agree that this is putting our lives in jeopardy

  I just drove home today on Skyline from Redwood Road to Parkridge Drive and it was treacherous. Heavy fog conditions made for almost zero visibility. The saving grace were the embedded fog lights - except for stretches where they were not working and it was almost impossible to navigate. These fog lights are crucial to our safety and really need to be maintained. Myself and several others in the neighborhood regularly go around and clear debris and vegetation from around the lights but we don’t have the means to repair the actual lights. Please, please help us.

  100% agreed. In dense fog, the parts of Skyline Blvd without street lights have less than 5 ft of visibility in front of my car. Please fix the street lights so we can reduce the risk of car accidents.

  When I moved to this neighborhood in July 1973 there was a dedicated person who was always cleaning debris from around the lights or was repairing them. What happened to that service? We still pay taxes but seem to be receiving fewer and fewer services?

  We need regular service particularly on Skyline to keep all lights working. It’s too dangerous for the amount of traffic. Citizens need your help in maiming safe operation on this well traveled street.

  I’ve lived here since July 1973. When I first moved here there was a dedicated person who cleaned the debris from around the fog lights and repaired the ones that were out. It was a daily occurrence. I have not seen a regular person since he retired. It has become increasingly dangerous to navigate Skyline in inclement weather since then. We need help for this dangerous condition. Please help us.

  Just tonight I was driving along Skyline at about 5-10 MPH due to the hazardous fog. We need those lights functioning properly, especially during these foggy nights. Please fix and regularly maintain these lights for everyone's safety!

  Please fix the fog lights on Skyline. They mark both sides of the road and make navigating the twists and turns safer, especially with the recent heavy fog and rainy mist.

  These fog lights were a substantial and effective investment by the City of Oakland, and it is important to maintain them. We have too many accidents on Skyline even in clear weather. These are essential to aid in foggy conditions, where sometimes one can barely see ahead. Please give this priority.

  please repair the fog/street lights; very dense fog on skyline, coupled with deer crossing the road (and tree limbs at risk of falling) = danger zone! thanks.

  The normal streetlights up on poles are useless in the heavy fog. There is about a one mile stretch that has small lights on the edge of the road that is a lifesaver and they make navigating in this particular section possible in heavy fog. Please maintain these lights before there is yet another accident here.

  This is really important, between the fog, fire risk, winds, trees down, etc. having those lights is a lifesaver in this neighborhood. They are already there they just need to be kept up. If you need neighbors to help in any way we are willing to help-- because this is important to all of us.

  Here is the housing and cover plate.
  Alan wrench top, flat head screw driver base, wedge base bulb.
  Tell me how this is bulb isnt being replaced again by the lighting division?

  We neighbors will be addressing the lighting issue on our own now, and we’ll have our street lights back on again soon.
