The sewer on south shore dr is backed up and floods the street for at least 50 feet. When the bus drives down the street it splashes water on the sidewalk. This has to be fixed. It's been going on for way to long.

Single Family HOME Owner on South Shore Drive under attack. (Registrierter Benutzer)
This is not the only problem on this block or all along South Shore Drive from 71st to 79th.
Open letter to Department of Water Management:
I am requesting through the Freedom of Information Act all CSR documentation for DWM work done by city workers or city engaged private contractors for the 71st to 79th blocks of South Shore Drive in the 7th Ward of Chicago, IL from 2000 to present. Please included permit information, private drain work , location of water supply, sewer restrict, sewer lining and any other DMW work performed on above mentioned blocks to include names and contact information of all subcontractors engaged by DWM / City of Chicago.
Please also included any single family house specific information for all single family homes 71st to 79th and South Shore Drive for the same time period.
The residents of these blocks are experiencing street vibrations which continue to escalate following DMW excavations, tree removals and subsequent restorations.
Please provide specific information for the work currently in progress which has resulted in speed bump type patching in front homes along this stretch resulting in street vibrations from every vehicle that travels done this road.
Please also provide detailed information about water main / sewer line break which resulted in water pooling in front of driveways at 7321 S. South Shore Drive.
Please also provide names of any and all sub contractors who preformed work during previous waterline upgrade resulting in line breaks making current do over necessary.
Please advise residents how to be made whole for damages as a result of this work and previous work done improperly.
I appreciate your prompt attention and assistance in helping us save our homes. the impact of these repeated issues is devastating. We need your help.
I have spoken with many individuals at the Water Department over the years and I am confident in the City's ability to restore all that needs to be restored for the good of the residents of the 7th Ward. The single family home owners to 4 unit building owners are suffering the most from these gross errors.
Gabe Klein, CDOT, was very responsive to our needs. It is my understanding he is no longer there. We need the same kind of commitment, utility and city service collaboration and caring. We also need oversight to ensure that the job is done right. George, the plumber for the area, is not enough at the very least and at the very worst is part of the problem.
Doing all that work and not sinking pipes, water mains, sewer lines etc. to required depths to avoid freezing and rupture is mind boggling in the "City that Works.
We are better than that.

We Need HELP!!!!!
The work that was done was done improperly. infrastructure. pipes waterlines sewers etc. ruptured over the winter. The entire stretch had to be redone to sink infrastructure to 4 feet. The resulting interim resurfacing in the form of small speed bumps, coupled with all of the resulting soil washed away due to ruptured lines of all sorts has caused tremendous street vibrations along the entire stretch particularly in front of the single family homes when every car comes by. It is no longer just buses that are causing these vibrations. Every car causes vibrations due to the speed bump like repair.
What is the city going to do to make the residents whole. The Sub-Contractors are responsible to the city. Who is responsible to the residents? Who was charged with directing and overseeing this work/ Who gave the specifications?
Such a major undertaking should have been reviewed at every step. I personally brought to the city attention that one of their contractors was laminating existing curbs with concrete wash when they should have been removing and replacing the curbs.
Who is watching how tax payer dollars are being spent?
