Well, I saw something VERY interesting this week. In the 500 block, there lives a member of the Boro Council who has one of the biggest houses on the street. This week, a truck from the "New Cumberland Highway Dept" pulled up and spent the day FIXING HIS CURBS!!!

How much you want to bet he doesn't get billed for it, either, considering the rest of us have to PAY someone to do that for us when the Boro tells us to do it??

I'm pretty outraged, but I'm glad I took plenty of photos! Maybe whoever runs against him next would like them???

WHY WON'T THEY FINISH OUR STREET??? I refuse to support any of the corrupt members of the council OR Mayor Landis ever again after the way they've treated us.

I think we all just have to suck it up and accept that the New Cumberland Boro Council and Mayor Landis simply don't care about the people of 16th Street!

Leaving the street like this has just made it even more dangerous. I saw a school van slide off the edge of the pavement and smack into the curb last week. It came VERY close to flipped over the curb! But I guess the Mayor doesn't even care to respond. Why do we even vote for her?

Good luck getting this changed, I guess. I found out there are TWO members of the borough council on 16t h Street and they don't want this project finished because they'd have to fix their CURBS AND SIDEWALKS! They've made everyone else in town foot the bill for the same work, but they don't want to do it themselves! In fact, one of them has sneakily used town money to fix part of his curb! It's the big house with the wrap around porch, near the Brandt side of the 500 block. Check it out sometime!
