Sorry about the misinformation! It's "scheduled" to be repaired along with several others. It's the truck's seal that needs to be repaired.

Does this mean that New Haven plans on running those trucks every week and continually dropping glass all over town? The repairs need to be made ASAP, not "scheduled" for some time in the future.

Fresh broken glass this morning on Prospect and elsewhere.

Public Works has been telling people for quite a while that the department is going to remedy the problem of the recycling truck that spreads broken glass on the streets. At this point, the department owes us a more thorough response: 1) By what date will the defective truck be fixed? 2) Will the department take the malfunctioning truck out of service until the repair is made? 3) If this makes it impossible to do recycling for a period of time, is the department willing to rent or borrow a truck that it can use in this interim period?
