If a meter is malfunctioning an alternative form of payment is required to avoid the issuance of a parking citation. Park Mobile and Go New Haven are acceptable third party providers for alternative payment, however if you are having difficulty with their app as well as the meter itself and no other alternative payment option (such as scratch-off vouchers available for purchase on the first floor of city hall) is available you would need to find a functioning parking meter in order to avoid citation issuance. We are unable to assist with technical issues with any third party app however both have support features built in to report concerns. As no valid meter number has been provided in this request nor details regarding the nature of the issue with the city's parking meter we are closing this request.

I noticed you reported various parking meters that have malfunctioned for you 14 times. Either our city's parking meters are severely defunct, or you don't know how to use the parking meters.

If it's the former, then our city needs to do something to address the problem. If it's the latter, please let me know, and I can direct you to several different tutorials that contain great information about how parking meters work.

I wasn't trying to make you feel stupid. There are many people who don't know how to use contemporary parking meters. Also, if our city's parking meters are failing as often as people claim, our city should implement a preventive maintenance program so that the meters don't fail as often as people claim.
