This is a huge problem! And there are lots of little kids who live on this street, not to mention the fact that it's half a block away from an elementary school, so lots of kids walk around here. Last year, a couple of motorcycle police stopped four people within the space of 15 minutes -- let's get them out here on a regular basis to show people this isn't ok!

Thanks for the post. The Traffic Enforcement Division will look into this issue. The nmotor unit has done enforcement in this area on numerous occassions and have never found the speeds you have listed. Those speeds would be extremely difficult to obtain on that street. In addition the traffic unit does not handle requests for stop signs, one way signs or speed bumps. Please forward those requests to T&P

Obviously I don't have a radar gun to measure the speeds but I would challenge your claim that it's hard o go that fast. they are going extremely fast, so fast that by the time you hear the car and look up you can no longer see it and frequently it's the wrong way down the street at very high speed. how do we put in the request to T&P for the one way signs and speed bumps? This is very important and just because the motor division didn't see them doing it the few times they circled the neighborhood doesn't mean it's not happening. PLEASE help us!

Contact your alder regarding requests for traffic calming measures. They can then assist you in the process of submitting a Complete Streets request form.

Thanks for your concern. The Sign Department has installed brand new "Do Not Enter" signs at the intersections were cars can come down the wrong way.
