Description
The old retaining wall opposite #35 Garden Alley and running west along the south side of the alley from #36 is buckling. There is obvious sagging at the eastern end of the wall. A collapse could undermine the parking lot and fence behind 409 Madison and the garage adjacent to the wall on the east. Also, if the retaining wall collapses, it could bring down several large trees onto the garages across from it and possibly knock down the utility pole. I don't know if the wall is supoposed to be maintained by 409 Madidon or if it is the city's, but it has not really be taken care of for abput thirty years.
