Construction / demolition - no building permits posted.
The residential building, attached to the skanky liquor store, at the corner of Cedar St. and Spring Ave. has extensive gutting, of the interior, removal of a lot of plaster and most likely lead paint, but I don't see a building permit posted. Do you think the owner would attempt this in Guilford, where he lives?

BTW, I "think" it no longer is required to post the permit so it's visible from the street (but I'm not sure if that's correct). However, you can use link above to see if there is a permit.

I called the building department; no permit was on file. My building permit clearly states that the permit must be displayed on a "conspicuous place, on the premises" (which, I suppose, is open to interpretation....).
Also, there is work going on, at 361 Howard Ave.; again, the building department said that there were no permits pulled, for work, at that address either. I see a lot of construction activity on Howard Ave.
As real estate speculators return to the Hill, I would like to make sure that: the city gets revenue from building permits, and that strict building code enforcement will dissuade slumlords and property flippers from destroying the neighborhood.
