The road was repaved and a couple of sharrows were added closer to 2nd Street, but the construction work is still ongoing so there is additional pavement work and sharrows that will need to be added before this report should be considered closed.
Here is a photo of Addison taken today, pointing westward from 4th Street. If the sharrows are to be installed in accordance with the MUTCD the distance between them should be no longer than 250 feet ("Sharrows should be placed immediately after an intersection and spaced at intervals of 250 ft thereafter"). The city of Oakland uses an even higher standard ("For blocks of more than 350 feet in length, sharrows should be placed at intervals of 150 feet to 200 feet as measured from the first sharrow on the block").
Since the block of Addison between 4th and 2nd is around 632 feet in length that means it would be appropriate to paint additional sharrows on westbound Addison after the intersection with 4th, in the middle of the block around the train tracks in both directions, and then again on eastbound Addison after the intersection with 2nd. Using the preferable Oakland standard a total of three sharrows in both directions on Addison between 2nd and 4th would be recommended.
