There are several lights out on the Sanford Street Parking garage facing cuddy court. Part of the agreement when this was proposed by the city was that it would be maintained. These lights have been out for quite some time and several notifications have been made by several people to your office. Please fix them.

My concern is the lack of street light use at the enterance of the Elementary/Middle school street. It is very dangerous because the oncoming traffic does not allow cars to exit or enter the street at a safe manner. Many people are tired of potential car accidents and the lack of safety. Please install a traffic light to resolve this issue and to protect people from getting into car accidents and put into dangerous situations during the most active hours of driving during the day.

There is no street light at this intersection. The school bus stop is here. The bus company refuses to move the bus stop to a safer location and children will be waiting for the bus in the dark on a busy highway. Could a street light be installed?

How can a street light be added to this street? This cul-de-sac is very dark as there is no street light currently there.

Not sure if there's anything the City can do about this. The parking lot access to the Stop and Shop on Pleasant St is meant to allow entry/exit from the NB lane only, but that doesn't stop people going SB from trying to take a left into the lot anyway. When they do, everything stops going SB on Pleasant because the NB lane has no reason to stop to let them take the turn.

I was not sure what category to put this in, but there is a major problem at this intersection. There is a hot dog stand that people put up and take down very frequently. It is on Mike's Automotive property on the section that abuts the cemetery. This is a very dangerous situation. The city recently repainted the crosswalk and put a crossing sign in the middle of the street after complaints it was dangerous for children to cross. It is in between the Cutting Edge and Mike's Automotive. When people are stopping for this hot dog stand, they are pulling their cars and parking them in the streets and also in the cemetery. They are turning their cars around about 5 feet or less from gravestones. I have witnessed this numerous times and it is very disturbing. This is definitely a dangerous situation and it is also very distracting to drivers given its proximity to the street. They have blowing signs that are tall and bright and catch your eye while driving causing a distraction. I have also witnessed almost an accident when someone tried to pass someone on the inside right in front of the hot dog stand only to jam its brakes on to pull over on the side of the road to get hot dogs. Please this needs immediate attention. This is a major safety issue for pedestrians and drivers. It is quite disrespectful when they are pulling their cars in and out near the cemetery gravestones.

As previously reported, when it rains, the pedestrian light and cycle is activated on the traffic light at Emory and Forest. This causing everyone to wait for pedestrian cycle for both directions while there is no one crossing or pushing the button. Once the button(s) dry up, the signal goes back to normal. Hence why the trouble cannot be seen when observed by DPW.

Four-way stop signs, but a lot of people blow right through them.

People are constantly speeding and running the 4 way stop sign at Dennis & Rathbun Willard. Over 50% of the cars observed are texting while driving. Speeding along Rathbun WIllard in excess of 50mph in a posted 20 zone is common. There is NO enforcement noted on running the stop signs, texting or speeding. Have observed many very close accidents.

Hello, I am reaching out regarding the intersection of Pleasant St & Richardson Ave. We just recently moved into a new home that is located right one the corner and we quickly noticed that people SPEED down Pleasant St and rev their engines extremely loud. When you have a three old sleeping and it’s three in the morning and residents are doing engine brakes, it can be very startling and wake up everyone in the house. I have spoke with our neighbors and they also agree that is very disturbing and we would greatly appreciate it if the city could do something to slow people down and help prevent such loud noises in the middle of the night. It also raises concerns when people drive so fast and there are children outside playing. As a neighborhood and community we are begging the city to please help us do something about it.
