"Hacker hostel" CHez JJ. Tenants are being rent gouged by the manager who is charging them approx $1,000 per month for a bunk bed in a shared room. There are 12 beds for a total rent over $11,000--I suspect the real owner doesnt know and didn't agree to this. Chez JJ is pocketing the profit? This building has had plumbing leaks that has gotten into the walls. Black Mold was over the walls and the tenants reported it. The owner came in a washed and painted the walls, but the mold was not abated and has returned. I know of one tenant (who is undocumented and afraid to report the owner), whose son is 7 or 8 and has developed asthma, and her newborn (2 months or so) is having respiratory problems. The owner sent tenants a letter stating if they want the mold removed they have to do it themselves. I do not have a copy of the letter. Please help. The health of these tenants is being compromised by the owner.
  • 519 Ellington Avenue San Francisco, California - Outer Mission
The building at 519 is residential, with one level above the two story garage. There are 5-6 families living in the building, with two families of children, a family of three and a family of four. There is one kitchen in the residence, and no more than two bathrooms. The garage space is currently full of assorted stuff, but is being emptied, apparently in an attempt to make an in-law. At least one family is throwing organic trash out a window onto the street (see corn cobs in photo.) We have a problem with raccoons in the neighborhood, and this does not help. At least one family has an unusable car parked long term with a flat tire. There is a consistent smell of marijuana coming from the residence.
  • 876-878 S. Van Ness Ave. San Francisco, California - Mission
The landlord in this building continues to dump at the entrance of this apartment building (a hot water heater and kitchen sink are there now), which is also blocking easy entrance into the building. We have told him about this on no fewer than 5 occasions for the past year, but he continues to refuse to do anything about it. We urge the city to do something about this, as we feel it could potentially be a dangerous if left unchecked and if he continues to dump excess materials at the entrance.
  • 2268-2298 Lawton Street San Francisco, CA 94122, USA - Outer Sunset
Someone or people have been bring large bags of trash and dumping them at the corners of the Sunset Rec Center's sidewalk. In the morning, the trash are all over the sidewalk where busy traffic are everyday. There are seniors, children and dog owners and their dogs who have to evade the unsightly and biologically unsafe areas by walking into street traffic. Please help!

  • 2435-2437 Chestnut Street San Francisco, California - Marina
We have lived in the Marina on Chestnut street at 2441-2443
2 unit condominium building. The 2 unit house next to us at 2435-2437 Chestnut street is owned by Victor Marcus of Marcus & Associates converted this 2 unit building into a home. Victor Marcus has relocated his home and has rented his house, to a group of young adults, the last few years that continue to violate the neighborhood noise level with endless parties that I have called the Marina police many times at 1am, 2am and so on. They create garbage with cigarette butts, beer bottles and cans in front of our home. They play their music so loud it makes my bedroom walls vibrate. The police can only do so much. I would like to my rights as a home owner, what it takes and who to talk to, in order to get these parties stopped. I have had Multiply Sclerosis for over 10 years so therefore I am home ridden most of my life with severe fatigue and pain. This noise violation is stressful on my health and making life impossible with disrespectful renters next door. I want to follow protocol and hoping the numerous number of complainants with the Marina Police department would help discourage these renters to obey the law and have the respect for the families that live next to them. We all have young children and work for a living however with this noise level it makes sleeping very difficult. Today 4/4/15 the party started at 10am, it is now 6:30PM I have called the Marina police department twice and even had our Chestnut street beat cop, policeman Matt talk to them however with no luck. Please lmk what I can do to help make this noisy situation stop. Talking to our nosey neighbors is not an option. They do what they want with no regard to the people that live next to them.
    Thank You

  • 57 Martha Ave San Francisco, California - Outer Mission
We recently purchased the house next door to 57 Martha Ave. The property is abandoned and is a significant health and safety concern. The backyard is overgrown and there is a pest problem (primarily skunks), the roof holds standing water for weeks after rain (resulting in mosquitoes), and the house generally looks like it may have structural problems. I have talked to two city departments (housing and abandoned buildings) and filed complaints, and they have held hearings and levied fines, but they have told me that's all they can do. I am hoping the city attorney can help me to address this issue.
