They're using the burned out house as storage now because their own porch overflowed. That is not their property. They were lucky to be spared from fire the first time. Prescott is a block away. CHILDREN will be walking by in less than a month. Please expedite the second conviction court proceedings and cleanup, and the demolition if possible. Not to mention the house needs painted and all of us are expected to adhere to that. Near South needs your help. It is only getting worse in Lincoln's most historical, most dense, and most diverse neighborhood.

Garbage, rodents, overgrown shrubbery blocking access to entrance-safety issues. This has been an on going issue for months and months.

This situation was first reported approximately 10 days ago. Residential property owners have an obligation to provide adequate garbage service for their rental properties. These two dumpsters and the 2 garbage cans next to them -- both full to the top -- are totally insufficient to handle the trash this complex of 10+ units. Garbage companies come by at least once a week but nothing's been picked up. There are animal tracks all over the garbage on the ground. I've got 4 more pictures of the site if you want to see the evidence. Despite your claim that you will investigate the situation a week after the letter is mailed, here it is 10 days later and the garbage is still strewn all over the place. If you won't clean up an obvious health hazard in less than 10 days, I'll be glad to track down the owner and deal with him myself. But should that happen, I will also call all the media outlets in the city as well as sending complaints to the mayor and the city council complaining that the health department is refusing to meet its most basic responsibilities, especially in the high-density core neighborhoods. You've got until noon on Tuesday (Monday being a holiday) to get this mess cleaned up. If there's still garbage on the ground, I'll start calling and writing and spreading the word about the Health Department's deliberate refusal to do the job that it is mandated to do. Jayne L. Sebby, Attorney at Law and Board Member of the Woods Park Neighborhood Association.

Stadium husker lights on all the time Have talked to thehuskerr visionpeople and they said it would be corrected Months later it's still happening This has been going on during non game hours for several years now Was told the grounds keeper probably forgot to turn them off We Would like to be in our neighborhood in the the evening and not have the stadium lights be the constant focal point It is very obtrusive and according to the city ordinance we read on line, the stadium lights are not to be on all the time They are violating the rules and the don't seem to care, especially now that they are LED This is another visual issue in Lincoln Light pollution gets worse here by the month I'm sure the wildlife is suffering worse There is plenty of data now about the negative effects Please help

The owners of this property, Oxford House, are beginning to operate it as a group home. It is in clear violation of the zoning ordinance since it is located within the minimum spacing to another group home facility that they have at 1900 A Street. I have attached marketing information from their website which clearly indicates their intended occupancy of up to 11 people.

Speeding vehicles consistently from 26th and Sumner Street to 26th and A Street. Additionally people speed from 27th and Garfield street cutting through the neighbors without stopping at corner and looking. Accidents waiting to happen? Speed trap? Stop signs possible on 26th and Garfield northeast and southwest corners? We have many children who play in this neighborhood worrisome for their safety.

I have photos from every time I've complained about this property. The sidewalk that runs along South 17th Street of the Smoker's Corner store is more of an ashtray/garbage dump on the side that abuts the road. Not counting the cigarette butts, I counted over 40 separate pieces of garbage. Vodka shooter bottles, Fireball shooter bottles, straws, caps, bags, cigarette packs, and more. According to previous repsonses from the city "this doesn't meet the threshold for litter". While I can't sue the city for failure to enforce their own municipal codes, there are ways for me to take legal actions for things like "malfeasance of duty" and "using color of law" in federal court. Or the city could just make Smoker's corner pick up their darn trash like they make other businesses and residents do.

It looks like someone has taken up residence in the bus stop on 17 and A and trash is starting to pile up.

    Food
    Bags
    Boxes
This has gone in way too long.
Why is the property owner not responsible for this clean up?

I know that I have written before about this intersection but something needs to be evaluated again. There was another accident this morning. There is too much traffic and someone will be hurt if something is not done.

After being told by their grandparents and myself not to ride on the sidewalk they did it anyway. Curious if anyone will start enforcing the rules in the Haymarket. Sorry to disagree with JSP glowing review of the success of this program, it is the worst thing to happen to the Haymarket.
