Notified About

  • Kalamazoo And Regent St. Lansing, MI - Lansing

The small section of bike lane along westbound Kalamazoo St. just past Regent is in very bad condition and poses a majority safety concern for bicyclists who come upon it unexpectedly. It's been like this for sometime now. The pavement is crumbling severely. I believe a plow may have caught some of the deteriorating pavement last winter and actually pushed part of the roadbed up and onto the curb leaving a dangerous mixture of deep potholes and mounded asphalt. I've been meaning to post this for some time now. I first noticed it this Spring, but it has gotten progressively worse over the summer and into the fall.

It's such a small patch, it would be great if the City could still get this fixed this fall, potentially when you are making other roadway repairs around town. The Township just finished patching a small portion of road and bike lane just East of this. Would have been a great time for neighborly collaboration.

  • 628 Denver Avenue Lansing, MI - Lansing
The power has been out on Denver Avenue in S. Lansing between Grant and Lyons since this past weekend (LBWL service area). I'd heard a rumor that BWL crews were checking this site for outage reports and wanted to add this just in case. :) If any crews are reading this, thank you for all of your hard work--it is very much appreciated!

There are several potholes in a close knit vicinity that are causing damage to cars. I understand the ground still needs to thaw, but would like this addressed and fixed as soon as possible. Thank you so much!

A section of Beau Jardin runs through our apartment community and the pothole situation is abhorrent; we have several that are at least 6" deep and 12" in diameter, causing a public relations nightmare for our leasing office. Any attention that can be paid to this matter is greatly appreciated!

    Respectfully,

He has way too many vehicles on this lot. What is so disturbing is this is the FIRST house..the ENTRYWAY to our neighborhood and this "yard" using the term loosely is appalling.

Abandon house that is now infested with Raccoons. The house in this neighborhood are very close together and the house has been abandon for several years, it has been reported that there is standing water in the basement. There are holes in the roof that allows for rain, snow & and animal to access the inside of the home. There is now a nasty smell coming from the house that is being reported by neighbors. Please do something about this home ASAP. It is a bad situation all around.

There are quite a few potholes (deep and within a narrow proximity) that are causing damage to cars. I understand the ground temperature needs to rise first, but if these could be made a priority it would be most appreciated!
  • 217 N. Jenison Lansing, MI - Lansing
House has been apparently abandoned since summer. At which time the home owner left two large dogs inside for 6 weeks, unattended without airconditioning in 100 degree weather. The dogs have been removed. However, the house is violating multiple codes. There is a large broken window on the north end of the house, there is no secure closure on this window. There are tires piled up in the driveway. There are stains on the front of the house dripping down the white siding. The BWL has turned off power to the house. There is trash in the backyard (trampolines, debris, etc). Since the house is apparently vacant, it was used during a B&E in which the thiefs hid their bicycles in the backyard to hop a fence and gain entry into the backyard of the house where they broke in.
  • 1126 S Grand Ave Lansing, MI 48910, USA - Lansing
There are two large dogs that live in the upstairs apartment at the house at 1126 S Grand. They bark and bark and howl and howl for hours at a time every single night or when anyone is in the parking lot of the riverview church. They never stop! It is so loud my husband and I can't enjoy tv watching at night and sometimes they wake my kids up. I won't let my kids play in the back yard sometimes fearing they might make the dogs start howling. I've called the police several times - they came once but every other time they say they can't do anything because the owner isn't there. The owner of the dogs leaves them alone for hours and hours sometimes overnight and they never stop barking and howling! The owner of the property is a real slum lord so I can't imagine the inside of the apartment is even suitable for dogs, let alone humans. But something needs to be done about this so I can enjoy my home again!
  • E Kalamazoo St. Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
The conditions of the bike lanes heading both east and west along Kalamazoo are dangerous. The bike lanes are full of potholes, and the lanes are covered in broken glass, gravel, and debris from 127 to Pennsylvania. The debris could easily puncture tires and cause a rider to lose traction. The debris is so thick and expansive at some points that it obscures the bike lane markers. Having a bike lane in such conditions is effectively as good as have no bike lane. What makes this even worse is that there are no alternatives for biking between Lansing and East Lansing unless one rides on sidewalks or risks riding along fast-moving cars on busy streets.
