    Cambridge Street & Interstate 90 Boston, MA 02134, USA - Allston-Brighton
As the two Pike exits merge together and then again merge onto Cambridge St, there are no signs indicating the merges. The new bike lane further complicated things as it is unclear whether the lane shifts or ends where the bike lane begins. In at least two places, lanes simply end. Signs warning of the merge / indicating right of way / displaying merged lane patterns are arguably a necessity for avoiding future accidents. Additionally, re-painting of the road lines is sorely needed (this should have been done when the bike lane was added, which itself already needs re-painting in many areas). Overall this whole area from merging off of the Pike exits, thru the first couple stop lights after that on Cambridge St, is very poorly marked for cars and bikes alike.

    510 Lincoln Street Allston, MA 02134, USA - Allston-Brighton
The crosswalk here at Lincoln and Cambridge has electronic cross/don't cross signs but they do not work for some reason.
  • 260 Lincoln Street Boston, MA 02134, USA - Allston-Brighton
At both crosswalks that cross Lincoln St near this location, cars are frequently parked on the side of the road. It is unclear if parking is even allowed here to begin with -- if yes, it should not be; if no, it needs a sign. It's really hard to see pedestrians, and the road is narrow at these points so parked cars turns it effectively into a one-way street.

From getting off the Pike, until at least the traffic lights at Lincoln Street, what used to be two same-direction travel lanes is now about 1.5 lanes (full right lane and partial left lane) and two-lane travel is extremely hazardous. Have witnessed several near accidents as cars in the left lane swerve into the right lane to avoid jutting snow banks, or generally travel outside their marked lane due to their lane only being partially cleared for long stretches. Either better plowing or a temporary lane closure is needed to avoid an imminent accident.
  • 36-40 Litchfield Street Boston, MA 02135, USA - Allston-Brighton
Litchfield Street and some other side-streets (eg Antwerp) and cross-streets (eg Ascot, Benson, Cygnet) are narrow under *normal* conditions (parking both sides, one travel lane total) and should be permanent one-ways. Now, especially but not exclusively due to all this snow, they can be nearly impossible to navigate as cars coming from both directions face off with nowhere to go. The city should make these streets temporary one-ways until the snow clears -- and even then, consider making them a network of permanent one-ways.
  • 139 Lincoln Street Boston, MA 02135, USA - Allston-Brighton
Lincoln Street is narrow under *normal* conditions. With all this snow, Lincoln is now barely 1.5 lanes wide and two-way travel is dangerous if not impossible at some points. The city really needs to consider plowing Lincoln Street to a full 2 lanes, or making it a temporary one-way. (In fact, somewhat inexplicably, one end of the street, near Soldiers Field road, already *is* an official one-way exit only, although several feet later it turns two-way again for the remainder of the road...)
