The lot between 3902 and 3906 Chamberlayne Avenue is over grown, but the other issue is that tree damage from the July storm is overhanging the sidewalk, and the storm the other night caused some the larger broken off branches to shift even more. These branches could fall and hurt someone.

I see that after over a month, the City still has not gotten the owners of 4206 and 4222 Chamberlayne Avenue to cut their hedges back off the sidewalk. 4206 Chamberlayne Avenue especially bad with the "For Sale" sign forcing people into the street.

Strom damaged trees from earlier storms are block the alley between East and West Seminary Avenue behind the house at 4821 West Seminary Avenue. The overhanging branches are blocking the sun from drying out the puddles in the alley and now there are mosquitos swarms. This has been previously reported and things are getting worse.

The hedges at both 4206 and 4222 Chamberlayne Avenue are blocking the sidewalk. Because of the For Sale sign at 4206, one must get into the street to get by the property.

The shrubs between this house in the alley are blocking the alley. The shrubs are overgrown and the storm last month caused them to fall into the alley, Even the garbage and recycling trucks are having problems going up and down the alley.

The landlord at 4320 Chamberlayne Avenue has not removed the limb from the sidewalk. These limbs are from a tree on the Apartment Building property and not the City's responsibility.
To walk by the property you must either go into the street or also up to the building.
It is now a week and I think that the landlord should have done some cleanup by now.

There are numerous apartment complexes and houses on Chamberlayne Avenue from the 3800 to 5000 block on both sides of the road with overgrown lots and hedges blocking the sidewalk. Most of the lots are the same complexes and houses that had the problem a month ago.

Does the City do regular checks on these problems or only waits until a citizen complainants? I would bet that these same places will have the problem within a month of the mowing this time.

  • Impassable Alley Acknowledged

The alley between East and West Seminary Ave in the 4500 and 4800 blocks is impassable for any vehicle other than a SUV with 4 wheel drive or a large truck. I damaged my car recently due to the huge potholes in the alley, so of which are now almost 2 feet deep.
This alley was not done last year when the city repaired a number of alleys in this neighborhood.

  • Chamberlayne watkins and Old Brook Rood, Richmond, Virginia - John Marshall
There are rats in the garbage on the north side of Watkins between Chamberlayne Avenue and Old Brook Road. There are only three super cans for an apartment building having between 6 to 8 apartments. As a result, the tenants pile their garbage on the sidewalk around the super cans. During a walk this morning, there were several rats feeding on the garbage.
This is the first time I have seen the rats, and the landlord needs to fix the problem before it gets worst and the City need to prevent a health problem.

The crosswalk buttons do not function on all corners and at least one of the buttons on the southwest corner was heavily damaged by an accident several weeks ago. Since school is about to start in a month, I would think having working crosswalk buttons would be a safety issue.
  • 4220 And 4222 Chamberlayne Avenue Richmond, Virginia - Ginter Park
The hedge in front of 4220 and 4222 Chamberlayne Avenue are so over grown, they are blocking the sidewalk. It is getting to the point were people will need to walk in the street to get by the properties.

I earlier reported a tree leaning over at this address. The neighbor folk have now knocked to the ground. In this heat, you should send someone to remove the soon to be dead tree from the side walk.
