Is it possible for the COH to place a port-a-let at the John Hunt Cross Country track / course because the trailer restrooms are closed ? Using the restrooms at the volleyball complex is not that convenient or accessible for those using this absolutely beautiful cross country park. Thank you advance for your help.

Please have someone stop McGucken Park and repair this water fountain next to the main restrooms. It is running continuously. Thank you.

Please have someone stop by to clean this wall as you enter the Men’s restroom at McGucken Park. It has been in this condition for at least 3 weeks. I’m guessing during this pandemic, restroom cleanliness is probably not a high priority for the COH.

Please replace warning signs at the railroad trussell location on the Aldridge Creek Greenway (1/2 mile from Ditto Landing entrance). Today, I came across a bicyclist who slid on a mud covered section at this trussell. He hit his head on the concrete wall as his bike went down. I noticed a gash on his helmet. He said the helmet probably saved his life. I attended to him (he couldn’t get up from the muddy concrete). Later, a friend or son took him to the ER.
The photo attached doesn’t show the mud because the COH must have gotten word of the accident and cleaned the greenway before I took this picture later that afternoon.

There are no warning signs at this blind spot of possible muddy conditions. There is 1 small sign “5 MPH” on a post that I think was installed after the accident. All other posts in this section have had their signs removed by vandals.
Because this greenway section is covered by the creek during various times of the year (less than 10), I am requesting the COH to review this safety issue and any other safety issues that can be addressed when the greenway becomes muddy and presents a very hazardous situation to the public.

    Thank you.

A local housing developer has installed a sign advertising the Cobb's Cove sub-division on the Aldridge Creek Greenway (south of Challenger Elementary School). The sign is within 3 feet of the actual asphalt greenway which I am fairly certain is City of Huntsville's public property. The sign says "Welcome to Something New" (along with other verbiage). They got that right, a commercial sign on a COH greenway... that's something new !!! If this sign is allowed to remain, this will open up a "can of worms" for other commercial developments adjoining our beautiful greenways to install their signs. Please remove. Thank you.

Someone has lifted up 1 section of fencing in Southside Park's large dog area. This is the section with trees and undergrowth. The damaged section is on the north side of the park. Currently, any dogs entering the park can get loose though this opening.

After repairs have been completed, I suggest a weekly inspection of the dog park to stay on top of any future vandalism. This inspection may be performed by Landscape Management since they cut the grass weekly.

Please forward the following to John Hamilton, Assistant to the Mayor.

Once again, the soccer/football lights on the S/E field in McGucken Park were left on all night (Fri - 3/4). The photo is what I see from my front porch and bedroom window. This is what happens when a soccer mom/dad's teenage son/daughter has access to the lights panel and drives off leaving the lights on all night and the COH Recreation Dept. employee does not show up to turn them off.

For a city who recently got Uber on board and is on the way to become a "gig city", why is so hard to turn off the lights! How much does it cost the city to power the lights all night long on a vacant field?

I'm not a Rocket Scientist, but I can solve this problem...change the lock!

Option 2, have a procedure in place to cover when the COH employee is out or cannot turn out the lights.

Option 3, have a policeman do a drive by to make sure the lights are off.

Option 4, give me a key to the panel and I will make sure the lights are turned off (no charge).

It's 5:10 a.m. and lights are still on.

Someone left the Soccer/Football fields lights on again all night long at McGucken Park. This is the 4th time this has happened in recent weeks! The photo was taken at 3:30 a.m. The last time this happened the Director of Parks and Recreation said that the locks controlling the lights have been changed and McGucken Park was now on the patrol list for COH Park Security. Not! Evidently, he didn't tell me that he gave new keys to some soccer player/Dad/Mom who is irresponsible in turning on/off the lights! Also, Park Security must not work weekends. So much for the word "security" in the title Park Security.

Someone turned the lights on around 2:30 pm Sunday afternoon, 3 hours before dark! Around 7 pm, on my way to Publix, I stopped by the park and no one was there.

It is 8:07 am and the lights are still on and the soccer player who more than lightly turned them on yesterday is probably in his calculus class at GHS.

Please forward this complaint to the Mayor's Assistant, John Hamilton. Maybe he can find out what is going on.

My thoughts are: you can change the lock a 100 times but the COH continues to give keys to irresponsible parties, you will get same results. As far as Park Security, I've lived next to this park for 25 years and have never seen 1 patrol car (green lights on top of vehicle) from that Section in the park.

Please send someone from General Services to turn off the lights.

Please contact Community Development or someone about the tree debris laying on the sidewalk located at the corner of Bailey Cove Rd and Weatherly Plaza. This tree was cut down at least a month ago. I believe the stump is located on the property of E & E Service Center.

The football field located on the SW corner of McGucken Park had its lights on again all night (12/05). This is the 2nd time in 3 weeks this has happened. The residents living next to the field (as myself) do not appreciate this inconvenience. The city needs to get control of whomever has access to the field lights. This is starting to get old. Someone needs to "connect" the dots and find out what's going on.

Monday - The football field lights located in the SW corner of McGucken Park were on all night long. This field adjoins Meadowpark sub-division. My bedroom, as well as many others was lit up all night. It's 9:23 am and the lights are still on.
