What the title says. There's literally two yield signs here. Looks like the initial one got hit and got bent to the point of not really facing the road and then a temporary one got put up and so now there's two? Then again how are people supposed to see it, the whole area is a freaking forest since its someone's personal overgrown garden project which apparently the city is allllllll for and yet if you let your own yard grow even because of rain and waiting for a day off work they are on you. Maybe everyone should call their own yard a garden so it too can be an overgrown mess that causes people to miss or hit yield signs.

Just what the title says. Then again, it would appear East Lansing is too busy giving out warning tickets to those that engage in commerce to actually change light bulbs.

Exactly what the title says. And exactly where the marker is on the map...

To quote Lavar Burton, "but you don't have to take my word for it."

Here too, I have driven twice recently and the road has been left to drivers to Guess where lanes are, as apparently something as simple as markings is too much. And yet I've seen how they're done. Takes seconds. Literally. Fail.
  • 2951 Kalamazoo Street Lansing, Michigan - Ingham County
Seriously. What lanes. Its downright ridiculous and has been for quite some time. And of course, it is Me that has to bring it up. There's LITERALLY no lanes. And its been that way for a while now? Its a complete lack of effort and a free for all. Is this township property? Cause if so they don't deserve it. The amount of time I see vehicles guessing at lanes or over what Would be lane lines (if only there Were some) is mind blowing. And bike lanes...WHAT bike lanes? The amount of danger that the township is putting cyclists and drivers in here is utterly annoying. If any accidents happen here, you can thank the road commission or township or whomever. I mean really...you can't put down LINES on a ROAD!?! And its been MONTHS. MONTHS! They are Completely relying on any citizens to already be familiar with the and know how many lanes there are. People not from the area wouldn't even know that bikes have their own space. If this is township territory and they do not fix this, then it should be city of lansing territory, cause it'd mean major incompetence.

Categorizing this as Street Light, since it *is* a light albeit a pedestrian one and since apparently things like this otherwise get overlooked.

The southeast Walk/Don't Walk signal has had a burnt out Don't Walk for at least 40+ days so that it does not indicate anything unless its time to 'Walk.'

  • 2951-2999 Kalamazoo Street Lansing, Michigan - Ingham County
The Do Not Walk symbol at the northwest side of the intersection of Homer St. and Kalamazoo St. also appeared to be out as of a crossing that occurred within the last 7 days.
  • 2901-2949 Kalamazoo Street Lansing, Michigan - Ingham County

    Hi.

The Don't Walk bulb/lighting at the northeast side of the intersection of Howard St. and Kalamazoo St appears to be out.

  • Lansing River Trail Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
Hi. I was traversing the river trail the other day and noticed a downed sign in the bushes just outside of the baseball field near Clippert. It appears to be a CATA #1 Route sign by the looks of it but not one I've ever seen. It looks old and the metal stand is indeed rusted. No idea how it made its way to its current location. I just figured it could be taken to somewhere that it belongs.

To note the most easily fixable of problems, and quite likely the least expensive, Kalamazoo needs new surface markings under the highway overpass between Howard and Homer. There's supposed to be 3 lanes (one east, one west, and a left turn lane) and two bike lanes. There seems to be no lane markings between the westbound and left turn lane. I've seen drivers creep past their non-existent lines into others way etc etc. Not to mention there are two bad potholes just east of the overpass when going onto or making a left turn onto Homer. Those are bad...one is starting to look like a pothole within a pothole, but if needed I can make a separate issue for them.
  • 656 Frandor Avenue Lansing, Michigan - Lansing

    Hi.

I almost put this under traffic signal for category but as it was a sign and not a light, I put it under 'other.' There is normally a stop sign between the McDonalds and Red Lobster when leaving Frandor to turn onto Saginaw. I think it has a "one way" sign on it too. At some point this was laid down...possibly when the McDonald's was remodeled a few months ago. So for quite a while now there's been no sign.

Most people are familiar with the area and have the common sense to stop, but given that the sign is laying in the grass (so far as I can tell), I think it was just never been put back up. I've also seen people accidentally turn the wrong way on Saginaw in the past so if it does indeed mention 'one way' and is down, it might be great to make sure its up as not everyone is as familiar with the area as I am.

    Thanks.

  • 324 South Hayford Avenue Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
In the fall the former house at 324 South Hayford was leveled and turned into a lot. At that time, the electrical connections were cut leaving as many as 9 power or other lines hanging down towards the ground, one especially low. This can't be the intended end result but was never addressed, so there they remain, low enough to brush against vehicles or touch with your hand.

Someone annoying citizen decided it would be a good idea to dump a mattress box spring or similar behind between the store on the corner of Kalamazoo and the house next to it, both belonging to the Ingham County Land Bank. If someone could kindly remove it, it would be appreciated. Thanks.
  • 324 South Hayford Lansing, Michigan - Lansing

Some annoying person decided it was a great idea to dump their worn out couch onto a vacant property's lot as a way to get rid of it during the winter and it has been sitting there ever since.

To my knowledge said property is under Land Bank authority or that of the county, and with no one living there the couch has just been sitting there for a couple months. Now that the snow has melted its more visible and looks bad. Blame the illegal dumpers (I know I do), but either way it should be taken from the yard to a landfill.

This location (between the former Paro Party Store and 324 S Hayford Ave) has had an issue with trash on more than one occasion. Thankfully it was cleaned up before, but someone dumped a bag since has led to a new pile.

What is more disturbing however, is that this location has become a hot spot where local hookers parlay their trade. Added to the trash are 2 or 3 pillows. When those weren't displaced, a blanket was added. Now, a small stool has been added as well. Each of these have been added in succession, and for the explicit purpose of prostitution. And if anyone doubts me, I have witnessed location in use.

I put this issue in the category of 'Trash Issue' because it is easier to open or close that issue than the actual prostitution one, which will require more work. At a Bare Minimum, if one wants to discourage the latter, the blanket, pillows and stool should be removed so that it is clear to the offenders that people are aware of the location's misuse and not tolerant of it.

All that it takes for Lansing to fall apart is for good people to do nothing.

  • 117 South Hayford Avenue Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
Hello. I put this under the category of 'Other' since although it is a streetlight issue, it is not that the light itself is out. Just south of the Lansing Civic Players Guild, next to their parking on Hayford, there is a streetlight that is nearly upside down. Ironically, it still turns on. But it definitely needs fixing. Included are pics in reference.

Hi there. There is a house on South Hayford that is boarded up from an out of state uncaring owner that has been attracting the homeless and the like for some time now. It had a wooden gate between it and the closed party store next door that it adjoins.

Recently this gate has fallen over to reveal a mess of garbage built up from the people whom have been hanging around the place that don't belong. It really should be cleared up as it makes the street look more run down etc. I really wish the owner would do something with this house! Its been empty for at least 3 years, and so this is the kind of stuff that happens...

If the picture is not clear enough I can take a better one.

There is a "no parking" sign that used to be on the east side of the road in front of the fenced 324 S Hayford. It seems someone took the sign down but left it in the vicinity. Since then it has been laying against the fence in overgrowth. It should either be removed or reinstalled.

A damaged sidewalk was filled in with gravel during summer, with 2 construction cones and 2 construction blockades left behind. For further work to be done? They have been left there for months now, damaged, knocked down, etc, leaving the already closed corner store they sit in front of looking even more derelict.
