This pothole is violent. A car's wheel and suspensions system could absolutely be damaged to the point the vehicle might be immediately immobilized. The city ought to at least put a traffic cone or some kind of warning if it can't be repaired immediately. This is one of the worst I've hit in Houston.

This is more an issue of the slab that has sort of popped up over time such that it no longer meets the asphalt portion of Allen Parkway. It really is so bad and made worse because cars are traveling at a moderate speed. The front end of several cars I've driven always hits this road transition so hard. It's really jarring to both the vehicle and the passengers. Seems like such a simple fix - shave the pavement - to smooth the transition b/w surfaces.

There aren't words to adequately describe the violent and forceful impact a vehicle suffers when it strikes the bucklings (in this approximate location) when traveling at or below the speed limit in the westbound lanes. This is one of the worst I've encountered in the city.

There are actually several points at which the road surface has buckled in fairly close proximity to the location tagged in this report. One of them is not as bad as the other two. The two that are bad are really bad. When you hit them going the speed limit posted for this stretch of roadway, the impact is so violent that my entire car is lifted to the point change and small, loose objects jump in their respective compartments. It seems to me these bucklings could be easily shaved off of the road surface. Not only would that provide for a smoother ride, but it actually feels like my car is going to lose a significant part of the axel/wheel system or even a body panel. Bucklings like these are definitely causing damage to our vehicles.
  • 2100-2198 Commonwealth St Houston, TX 77006, USA - Montrose
There's a cross cut section of Commonwealth covered with very soft black asphalt. The asphalt is no longer even with the road and has caused a lateral indentation, which, when your car hits it, has the effect of an inverted speed bump. Hitting it is, at a minimum, jarring to both car and passengers and more likely destructive to the integrity of a car's suspension system and shocks.

The pavement has buckled very badly at this location. It's right at the seam of an asphalt section and a concrete section. The asphalt has buckled up and if you're going anywhere near the speed limit on Allen Parkway the front end of your car hits this buckling very hard. This exact issue and location has been a problem for years but has recently become much worse.

These meters are located on the left side, which is also the Westside, of Louisiana Street close to the intersection with Rusk.

I'm writing to file a concern about the traffic lights throughout Midtown and downtown. None of them in any direction – whether running north and south or east and west - are properly timed or synchronized. When I leave a garage on Leeland Street I hit a red light at every intersection. Although the timing and/or synchronization seems to be better on some of the north south streets on the western side of downtown, they lose that proper timing or synchronicity once in Midtown. Traveling North from West Alabama on San Jacinto St. is a perfect example of how many red lights you get until you hit St. Joseph Street. It's very frustrating to drive across/through downtown and midtown because of the invariable and without fail stop-go nature of the drive. And although I said it was b/w 9 AM and 4 PM, it's really at all times of the day or night.

The entire intersection on at least the north side of westheimer is awful. I don't think you can drive over it at more then 15 mph without potentially damaging your vehicle.

Serious pothole. I'm unfazed by run-of-the-mill potholes after living here and in New Orleans for many years. It's only when a pothole is really serious that I take time to report it. There are two really bad ones in this block - one near 1408 and on in front of 1424.
  • 1501 Louisiana Street Houston, TX 77002, USA - Downtown
Even though I've stated this problem really only persists between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM, I actually notice it at all hours of the day and night. I notice it only on the east and west bound streets in downtown and midtown Houston. The northbound and southbound light seem to be synchronized pretty well. however, the streets that run eastbound and westbound in that same area have anything but synchronize lights. I can't understand why they're such a disparity in the synchronization of traffic lights on these streets. In fact, it takes me as long to cross east west - say, from Bagby to San Jacinto - as it does for me to get all the way from Elgin to roughly Clay Street. Unfortunately there's no way to avoid the delay because it seems to be every street running east and west through both downtown and midtown.

Area surrounding manhole cover has sort of caved in. The disruption to cars is worse than the attached pic makes it look.
