It causes traffic during peak times of the day. And this evidently proves misuse/abuse of usage for outdoor basketball personal use! All of these signs need to be removed. Kids and people are riding their bikes speeding on these streets when these signs are blocking the public streets! City of Alameda needs to do better!

3248 Garfield Ave Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - AlamedaA couple years ago the city of Alameda removed two dead trees from in front of 3246 Garfield and replace them with new trees about a year later when they did so and pulled up the old dead trees there was a soil Gap leaving about 6 to 9 in of missing soil between the sidewalk and the tree Park where the new trees had been planted leaving a tripping Hazard for anybody who might step into the tree Park. It does not look like it from the picture with the grass that has grown but there is a definite step down and tripping hazard that the removal of soil by the city has caused this is even more prevalent so on the other tree about 50 ft further along. It would probably be good for the city to fill the space with either soil or gravel so that this is no longer a tripping hazard.

Need traffic calming measures in addition to current speed humps. At certain times (and it’s getting close to continuous) it’s very hard to even back out of our driveways. Keep in mind, the bay trail for bikes also uses Bayview as the primary route connecting the paved sections. So there are many bikes and kids on bikes using this same route.
The issue is very obvious: because the Otis Street traffic pinches down from High Street to Park street, and is constrained by the Broadway and Park street lights and both intersections are very congested, people take Bayview as a bypass. This is especially true in the morning and afternoon commutes. But again, this problem exists almost continuously now; it’s just worse at these times.
Please consider installing traffic counting strip monitors and get the counts for yourself. Bayview was never intended to be a main thoroughfare. We would also
like you to revisit the unfinished traffic calming items proposed many years ago. -
