On Sunday January 23, around 11:00 a.m., I was attacked and bitten by a medium-sized black and white short-haired dog on a trail leading to the top of East Rock. The owner had the dog on a leash and was coming down the trail as we were going up. My husband and I could tell that the dog was aggressive, so we communicated with the owner (a woman in her 20s or 30s) from a distance of about 20 feet that we would move to the opposite side of the trail so that she and the dog could pass by. As I was moving behind a tree at the edge of the trail, the dog lunged at me and bit me just above my knee. Unfortunately we were not able to exchange any information with the owner, but I would like to locate her to ask her a few questions. If you have any idea who the owner is, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Thank you.
  • Prospect Street At Trumbull New Haven, Connecticut - Yale University Campus
going north on prospect, the green light at prospect and trumbull/canal is ridiculously short: about 10 or 15 seconds at the most. this is woefully inadequate for the traffic in that area of prospect street. i had to wait for 3 or 4 cycles to get through the light earlier today (and it wasn't rush hour). before the light turns green for northbound traffic, there is an equally brief left turn green light for southbound traffic. and the trumbull/canal green isn't much longer. it's really stop-and-go, with the pedestrian walk light part of the whole cycle. can't each part of the cycle be lengthened? it would move traffic along much better and cause less frustration.
