    H&R Block (located at 3220 W. Cary Street) is again illegally posting advertising signs. This is a reoccurring issue as they frequently violated the law last year.

    Sec. 19-22. Posting of signs or advertising prohibited.
    It shall be unlawful for any person to paint, mark or write on, or post or otherwise affix to or upon a public way or fixture thereon any sign or other form of commercial, noncommercial, or political advertising, promotion, solicitation, communication, or display. It shall furthermore be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to cause or, with knowledge, permit such actions to be taken on such person’s or firm’s or corporation’s behalf.

This ordinance applies to all trailers, including those containing boats. The Richmond Police Department enforces these ordinances by issuing parking citations to the owners or operators of violating vehicles.

    Contact the Police Department at 646-5100. The fine is $120 for each citation.

    The trailer did not have a visible license plate, so attached is a license plate of the vehicle towing.

    Cars turning left off Ellwood onto southbound Nansemond have a difficult time due to the cars stopping sometimes 2 car lengths past the marked area.

    Both state the City will enforce the garbage supercans and recycling bins left out passed their allowed times. Furthermore, the latter states that it is the responsibility of the Department of Public Works (Richmond City Agency) to assess the civil penalty of $50 per receptacle left out per day.
