Traffic there is bad enough. Putting stop signs at all points will just make it worse. Think about it. It would be mayhem. Adding stop signs there would do nothing except cause more trouble as people get out of their cars to beat the crap out of each other.

I agree with both -- why do you people insist on forcing your way through an intersection such as that one when there is another intersection a few hundred feet away controlled by a very modern and efficient traffic light? Unbelievable, all to supposedly save a minute then you force your way out again making a left onto Trooper

the problem occurs because the traffic on ridge pike is so backed up that people speed down Oakdale to avoid that traffic only to back up cars 5,6 deep waiting to cross or or merge with park ave. A few years back their was a petition to make Oakdale closed to through traffic during rush hours. I am surprised there are not more accidents at Clearfield and Oakdale from running the stop sign to get to this intersection even faster.

Why should more stop signs be added when the majority of the cars ignore the ones that are there? ( especially at Clearfield and Oakdale) I live there and am so sick of the number of cars that speed down Oakdale and get aggrivated when you try to pull out of your drive and make them slow down at least to 40 mph. Then drive up your butt when you come to a dead stop at the sign that they want to blow through. I sit there extra long just to let them know what a sign is there in the first place for.It should be detoured for a cut through!!!!!!! My neighbor moved out so his kids didn't get killed going to the bus stop.

I'm amazed at the ignorance of those who have chosen to comment. Just because people blow through stop signs on some of the back roads in the neighborhood, it doesn't mean that it wouldn't have a positive result to add a few more. It may cause people to think twice when they are driving through the intersection and may even help them to act courteous by stopping prior to the intersection and letting people make left turns to arrive home to their families more safely.

I couldn't agree more that these back roads through neighborhoods are abused by commuters so maybe adding a few more stop signs would make traffic bad enough that people would select another route home.

My comment is given not as a disgruntled commuter but that of a resident in the area that has had a car wreck land in my front yard, where I was the only person that called 911 and ran out of the house to assist while the rest of the ignorant disrespectful commuters ran over each other to get around the wreck and continue home. I've also witnessed a car drive through my front lawn to avoid traffic in this area. I'm so tired of the lack of respect and common courtesy of the drivers in this area, especially during rush hour, and that lack of respect, common courtesy and common sense is demonstrated in the responses below.

I am also very amazed at the e-mail marked "concerned resident". I at least got a very good laugh out of it (which is needed over this whole subject.) Just because people blow through stop signs / add a few more. Seriously ... say that line out loud and see if you can find reasoning in it. What would be the difference if you blow one or six /// too too funny. You had a car wreck in your lawn and a car drive through your front lawn but after all that you say add a few more stop signs ... come on, think about it. Bottom line Oakdale needs to be shut off totally to cut through traffic which I really can't forsee happening. I lived there for 30 yrs and nothing has been done yet. It is not a township priorety so we either have to live with it or move. You also made a comment about the common courtesy and common respect demonstrated in the other comments but you don't understand ... the people making the comments aren't the ones cutting through and running signs they are all the ones wanting a solution. THEY LIVE THERE

I am a "cut-througher" and gotta tell you I see the police there so much that I can't turn onto Oakdale without thinking they might be there--got to admit it keeps me around the limit. I have to give them credit, they address it enough that that got me to pay attention and I am sure I am not the only one--also they have a ton of places to watch, I'll bet---

Add signs stating "No through traffic 7A -9A 4P-6P" Trediffryn twp has them why can't we?

Because 1) I don't think they are really legal on a public road and 2) even if they are all that does it put that traffic on the next road over and they will want the same sign, etc etc etc
