These depressions in the pavement are NOT potholes. These are sink holes. There is no chunk missing from the pavement. This is a sink hole. Something is going on underneath the surface. In fact, if you take a look up and down the street there are sink holes all along.

This past fall we had the water line in the street at the connection to the house break and water was gushing a flooding in front of my house. I bet anything there is a broken water line or sewer line under the street.

Just filling this depression will not solve this problem. It will be a waste of time and taxpayer money.

3/25/2014 - Thanking you so much for your communication SBowen. There was an on street inspection performed by a Richmond Roadway Inspector and he did not notice anything that was indicative of a caved in section on this street. Also, if there was a sanitary sewer break please trust that you would smell the raw sewage and it would be unbearable to the nostrils and a water break would ooze up to the surface. A ticket has been created for DPU Mgmt (20020934352) to be able to inspect dpu cuts for settlement and depression from water projects performed in the last year - rtt
