Description

Severely damaged sidewalk in front of this address, probably created by out-of-control tree roots. Sidewalk cracked at peak of broken slab. Unsatisfactory asphalt patching has not corrected the damage. Very serious tripping hazard due to peaks, valleys, bumps, and uneven surfaces.

Q. Under the Seaside Municipal Code and California Streets and Highways Code Section 5610, 5611, and 5612, property owners are responsible for maintaining the sidewalk in front of their property. Any construction in a sidewalk requires an encroachment permit available through the Public Works Department. All work done must be completed by a licensed concrete contractor (Class C-8) or an engineering contractor (Class A). Is the sidewalk in front of a home?
