My bad! I didn't notice that the original time limit was 15 minutes instead of 2 hours. That SUCKS. Characteristic New Haven absurdity . . .

The sign is stating that from 8am to 5pm, a vehicle can be parked at the location for up to 15 minutes only. A vehicle parked beyond that 15 minute limit will be in violation. From 5pm to 9pm, there is no time limit for that location so one could pay for up to 4 hours of parking without being in violation. Based upon the issue posted, it sounds like you are unable to pay beyond the 15 minute limit after 5 pm. This is a problem with the parking meter itself. The parking meter supervisor will be notified concerning this issue. Thanks for the post.
