By agreement, there was to be no enforcement of parking violations, as long as they weren't abused. But, now cars line the street all day, making it virtually impossible for local residents to park in front of their houses, creating difficulty in pulling out of driveways, and simply contributing to a neighborhood eyesore.

what agreement are you talking about? On my block, the house across from me parks three cars overnight every night for at least 6 months. They've got 6 cars total for a driveway that houses two, liberally. I notified the town, but nothing gets done (so far).

The town, school and block worked out an ordinance agreement that would preclude commuter parking, but still allow local deliveries and service people to park on the street. There would be no enforcement unless there was a problem, which, Unfortunately, there now is.

Contact the town about it. The police don;t want to hear about it. I hate to rat out neighbors, but as I stated above, the house across from me clearly is overpopulated (6 cars for a 3 BR house). and makes a mockery of the overnight parking ordinance. If you/we allow the town to go to feces, it will.
