In our neighborhood we occasionally gather for a clean-up day and clean and manicure the roadway where it is on the backside of the neighborhood. It is beautiful how all this began with an elderly neighbor demanding neighborhood responsibility. Just say’n.
Noticed all the litter along this stretch of Johnson Ferry when I drove by last week. You would think the massive new Brookleigh development on the opposite side of this roadway would provide the city with enough revenue to clean this up on a regular basis. No more one--time clean ups just when someone sends a Click Fix post. These should be scheduled at least quarterly.
Great idea however this littered area is in front of Peachtree Gplf Club.
Would be nice if group from Cambridge Park neighborhood would occasionally organize a clean up along the sections of Johnson Ferry and Ashford Dunwoody that run along their neighborhood
Actually the SCF map based on Stan’s report shows that this picture was taken between the two Hampton Hall entrances on Johnson Ferry. Hampton Hall should actually organize a group to clean up this area. If Stan is a resident maybe he can facilitate this for the citizens of Brookhaven. Based on Stan’s good will and community involvement, I suggest we close this issue and let our city concentrate on potholes and road repairs.
Al you are probably correct. My thinking was that after seeing park groups in district 1, district 3, district 2 and district 4 engage themselves in park endeavors I thought an adjacent neighborhood to a neglected roadway might catch the spirit. My mistake.
The community maintains the ROW behind our homes. This trash is across the road. The City needs a stronger law against littering and a scheduled cleaning.
Stan, we have a similar situation in our neighborhood and we are prideful enough to maintain both sides of the road. That is just how we are. Laws are meaningless without enforcement. Better results can be derived from public education and enforcement of existing laws. With the improved police coverage we now have this should not be a problem.
