Even this morning the traffic was incredibly backed up as well during rush hour. The turn light was not letting many people thru per green light. Cars turning south onto N Point backed up to the east side of the bridge over the Green way.

Traffic Engineers have inspected the location and determined that the timing of the signal is consistent with the traffic management plan for the Old Milton Parkway and North Point Parkway corridors.

Two issues are impacting left turning movements in this area.

The first is that during peak periods some motorists are pulling into the intersection and blocking it when the signal changes. This obviously impedes other motorists and reduces the number of vehicles that can pass through the intersection during a light cycle.

The second issue is one of roadway capacity. Simply put, at peak periods more vehicles are passing through the intersection than the roadway can handle. Unfortunately, at this time the Georgia Department of Transportation has no plans to construct additional lanes on State Route 120 / Old Milton Parkway.
