Please do something about this intersection. I was walking in the crosswalk this morning and a black pick up truck that was speeding towards downtown didn't even slow down for me and ignored the fact that I was in the middle of road. This is what us pedestrians deal with constantly on Beach and 7th and this wasn't even the weekend. Thank-you.

Unfortunately, the traffic study we conducted confirmed that this crosswalk does not meet the minimum thresholds required to have a flashing beacon installed -

1. Does the pedestrian cross more than 1 thru lane, in the same direction ?
2. Does the hourly vehicle volume exceed 800 vehicles per hour ?
3. Is the vehicle MODE speed of major street traffic > 35 mph ?
4. Does the percentage of motor vehicle / pedestrian conflicts exceed 5% ?
5. Does the percentage of pedestrians trapped in the roadway exceed 10% ?

Therefore, based on this analysis we are not able to consider your request at this time -
