I know the drivers are working hard, but so are all of us living in houses on these cities and I'd like to beg the drivers to at least drive the speed limit so that we have a fighting chance of not dying of heart attacks clearing, reclearing, and reclearing extremely heavy, deep, salt laden snow and large ice chunks from our sidewalks and driveway aprons. It's ridiculous that the state & city threaten to fine those that do not shovel, but why can't we fine them or take a tax break when we have done due diligence on our part only to have the city or state throw it all right back onto the sidewalks and drives? It is not even possible to reenter drives after the plows have been by! What about a smaller truck following to reeler the already cleared drives after they are refilled by our state and city DOT? The cities of Burington and Winooski VT have their walks done by their city public works. Nice use of taxes I'd say!
