Golf carts may be operated on roadways that are designated for golf carts. You have to register an LSV and hold proper insurance for it. Once you have that, they are "street legal" on roads where the speed is 35 miles per hour or less unless a governing body prohibits them from specific streets. However you must' hold a VALID florida drivers license to operate LSV's in Florida.

On roads that are designated for golf cart with a see of 30 MPH or less Golf Carts are NOT titled or registered and are NOT required to be insured with PIP and PDL coverage. A person must be 14 years of age or older to operate the golf cart.

Last night about 8pm 3 juveniles in a golf cart crossed 90 Avenue as I was turing left, almost causing an accident. Of course none had seat belts. One screamed and the other laughed. Then the driver drove into the grass area. Out for a night of fun that could of been tragic. Luckily for them I am a cautious driver.

If these are your kids or you know the kids operating the golf cart, please advise them that the roads here re NOT for operational use of golf carts. Best for them to abide by the policy and procedure and for parents to enforce this as well.

Note: When I asked then where they lived so I could speak to their parents, they would not tell me. Understanding that , I have decided to send this notification to Cooper city Neighbors.

Additionally, the is not the first time I have encountered a golf cart operating on the roads of Cooper City illegally.

I have reported this to BSO and illegal golf carts operated on roads where they are prohibited shall be addresses. If I see you, you can guarantee that I will call BSO and report the violation, for your safety and for the safety of others.
