A kind and caring neighbor has took it upon himself to remove these signs in this area - HOWEVER, the same signs are now posted on trees within the median strip along Southbound Roosevelt Blvd, near Federick Chevrolet ( Bustleton Ave cross street I believe), Southbound Roosevelt Blvd & Mascher Street ( trees in median strip) AND Westbound Tyson Ave @ Roosevelt Blvd, right hand side, affixed to utility poles. It is my understanding that it is the City's Obligation to remove these illegal signs and fine these individuals. Come on City Officials, stop crying you're broke and start collecting needed revenue from these businesses that are operating illegally. Your apathy is essentially " aiding and abetting " by allowing them to post illegally and not removing these signs. I guess you would rather place the burden of the revenue deficit upon the shoulders of hard working, tax paying property owners.

Although the signs in the areas indicated have been removed, these signs continue to be posted throughout several neighborhoods in our city, i.e., Port Richmond. Unfortunately, I think the illegal posting of these commercial signs will continue, despite efforts of those who are removing these signs. Therefore, this issue must remain open until L & I finds the person responsible and fines this individual/group. Thank you for your continued efforts in eradicating this for of urban blight!

These signs are still posted throughout the city, specifically in the Tacony Section - i.e. Princeton Ave & State Road intersection.

Good for you to go after this kind of visual blight- I'd recommend removing a bunch of signs and taking them down to a televised city council meeting and embarrassing them.

If these types of issue are of concern to you, I invite you to participate at the next Tacony Quality of Life Council meeting, scheduled for Thursday, May 26th @ 7:00pm being held at the Sons of Italy, located at Friendship & Hegerman Sts. We are expecting representatives from CLIP & Licenses and Inspections to attend. Feel free to join us and voice your concerns, even if you are not from Tacony, you are welcome, too.

Unfortunately, still seeing these signs posted everywhere throughout the City. Hopefully things will start to improve once we meet with CLIP & L & I reps. at the Tacony Quality of Life Meeting scheduled for May 26th.

Also, there is an open invitation to anyone from the media to attend this meeting. In the City's effort to become a more "Green" City, removal of urban blight should be our first priority. Enforcing and imposing the monetary penalties associated with this issue should generate some income that could be used to improve our City's landscape.

Whoever is illegally posting these signs continues to do so everyday in new locations throughout the entire city. It is my understanding that this signage problem is now to be solved thru the Streets Department. So I am requesting the Streets Department on behalf of the Citizens of Philadelphia to require the Streets Department Personnel to remove these signs as they see them and fine the violator accordingly. Perhaps these fines could be funneled back to the Streets Department in assisting necessary roadwork repair. Thank You!
