Description
I believe it would be a good idea to construct an "Exit 19B" here at this location sometime in the not-too-distant future. This would fit in with the current plans for overall modernization of the transportation systems here in the Hudson Valley, and ultimately relieve congestion in and around the City of Kingston. It also would relieve much of the congestion in and out of the current Exit 19/NYS Route 28/Interstate 587 area. In these days of crumbling infrastructure and snarled traffic, I think it would be a great plan to consider, in order to work towards improving Ulster County transportation corridor as a whole.

It would be built north of the current Exit 19, because there is enough land where the Route 209 bridge goes over the Thruway to build an interchange there. Plus, it would provide a better link to Kingston's northern end near the Malls and shopping areas on Ulster Avenue.
I just think it would unclog some of the traffic around the Roundabout/Route 28/Sawkill Road areas, and also allow quicker access to the Thruway from the Lake Katrine/Glasco areas.
It would also provide much shorter travel for motorists coming from the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge who want to travel north on the Thruway. Then they wouldn't have to drive all the way south on 209 first or create congestion by getting onto the Thruway in Saugerties.

I think that spot would be great. (Buford, it's north of the current exit, at 209, for easier access to 199 and the malls.

Sorry you couldn't respond civilly to an honest question, sheesh.
