I was at the gym over there for an event the other day and took a walk around the field. Spring is here and I like to throw the baseball around with my kid after work on this field, but not this year. There are trash bags, bottles, sections of asphalt curb and other things I can't identify out there. I'll tell you this, I don't think that a simple cleaning of the trash will do the job. This field needs to be raked and reseeded. It looks like the heavy trucks driving on it killed all the grass. I like this little field and hope they fix it up for the spring.

It really is an eyesore. I certainly hope the cleanup begins soon. The appearance is terrible but we also have a such a limited number of fields available for our kids to use for practice. We need the field to be available now that the weather has improved.

Sorry there, neighbor. I wasn't trying to upset anyone--just wanted to comment on the state of the field and say that I enjoy playing there is all. I know that the city only has so many folks to handle these jobs and that they probably have a whole line of things they need to do after that hard winter we just had. I'm sure they'll get to it as soon as they can.

The city has neglected this field for years. It has become a dirt pit or better yet "the sand lot." Hopefully they will stop @#$% away money on nonsense and clean the place up.

I've been by the field and see that most of the trash and debris have now been cleaned up. The field will still need some work before it is usable for anything, but at least the trash problem has been corrected. Thanks go out to the Seymour DPW for the quick response to this issue.

Wow! A little update--The town had a machine raking the infield here today. This field still needs some work, but it is looking a lot better. I hope they keep going with the improvements. It will be useful for practice and looks nice since it is at the Community Center. Keep up the great work Seymour DPW.
