apparently we had damage to our "signs" during that plow wind last year...

so with the "insurance" money, we are making new signs...they did a story about it already...

I'm sure they will vote on it at a council meeting...atkinson will disapprove...and all of us will agree that
we spent way too much money on it, and all of it is blown way out of proportion...just like every other decision that our council has to make...

If we had nice signs,pa still looks bad.Snowbanks,litter,beer cans,litter our city entrances.Then after ten at night you have young teens hanging around giant tiger and tim hortons looking for trouble.In my opinion signs wont make P.A look any better.

I've been complaining about this for years it's a joke our signs and as for an eagle or a wolf what on earth does that have to do with Prince Albert? And leave the different languages out! once you go down that route everyone wants there language on it. Just build a nice sign with some brick or stone on it and light it up at night and say "WELCOME TO PRINCE ALBERT" but make it nice PLEASE!

Prince Albert is a multicultural community... the different languages on the welcome signs are languages that are very well known around here.. Being a race other than caucasion myself i find it not racist as u say but very welcoming when i enter PA. You have your opinion and I am intitled to mine, however making a new sign thats looks more presentable would be nice :)

The eagle and the wolf represents the aboriginal/first nation/indian/native/indigenous peoples of prince albert and surrounding areas thats what they would represent. as for the snow banks we can thank our creater for those lovely white mounds of frozen water that is the blood of our eco system running through our streets (veins) as they melt to give us fresh water. i also think Giant Tiger is a great store and maybe our young are hanging out there for the deals and sales that store has, better than hanging out at that skateboarding area the city HAD to build.......

How about a sign that just says "Prince Albert" that way no one is offended. I see people (tourists) stopping and getting thier pictures taken in front of the signs all the time, that is until the drunks moved into the south hill cemetary and would go and pass out on the sign. There is a nice welcome to Prince Albert sight!

The city has put the process to tender and asked for designs. We've submitted out proposal to them but as far as I know it's not yet gone to the committee. If I hear anything i'll pass it along on our site and here.

why only cater to the first nations peoples? theres other races living here as well, if youre going to do it for one group of people do it for them all!!! and whatever language Tansi comes from it cant be THAT well known! the sign should have wording in both english and french like every other cities signs that ive seen!!

There definitely seems to be a lot of interest in this issue based on the conversation happening between users. Talking about it is good in the short term, but we have to think about how to resolve this issue in the long term. We should work together, instead of against each other, to better our community. What constructive solutions do people have?

i think that our sign should just say welcome to prince albert like every other town and city we do not need all the other bull written all over it why do we want to look like a trash pit we are surrounded by enough of that

our city land fill does have a nicer welcome sign then the city itself has pa is one big pot hole our city manager needs that big raise tho over 200 000 for nothing what a joke when will people stand up for our city and speak or wait never mind half the people who live here come from the reserve that they wrecked just like they are wrecking this city so why would anyone care

Why change the signs just for someone to graffi them or try and burn them.Maybe clean up the city first of all the bums before trying to make believe we are so great. Thiscity is so disgusting with litter,bums,pimps,hookers. Whats a new sign going to do.

If people dont realize which city they are in then they should purchase a GPS. Welcome signs should be constructed with the same material as speed limit signs, no need to waste money on something so stupid.
