I am new to this process.. How does it get from acknowledged to open? What can I do to help move this along?

Once I acknowledge the complaint I give the service request to the inspector that has that area. They in turn make an inspection with pictures and turn the paperwork in to be processed. A notice must be sent out within 30 days of the inspection or a new inspection must be made. On this particular instance, an inspection was made on January 10, 2014 and the inspector turned in paperwork to cite the structure for defective paint and the yards for trash and debris. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, (snow days last month, backlog, etc.) no notice was sent to the owners before the 30 days was up. I have the paperwork and will give it back to the inspector to verify that the violations still exist and will get a letter out by the end of next week if possible. Thank you for your patience. hcj
